Marksmanship Training

Today is target practice with the Nerf pistols. It became readily apparent that lack of shooting experience seemed to compensate for the inaccuracy of the nerf bullets.  The granddaughter's scored more hits that the experienced shooters.

Preparing the nerf bullet. The grey ones had to be painted orange so we could find the errant ones in the bushes and on the gravel. Half were already orange.

Lessons on loading the nerf gun.

Possession in nine tenths.....

Crafting is also involved in creating targets.

Aiming is also an important lesson.

Arlington For Lunch

Today we drove over to Arlington to Nutty's Junkyard Grill for a late lunch. This was our first time here and it is quite something as you can see.

By arriving late, almost 2:00, we missed the rumored crowds.

July 14, 2016 - Kayak Point Park

Crab Fishing

Today is crab fishing day. We went with Cal and Bettey over to the beach at Kayak Point Park. The park has a large beach, both covered and uncovered picnic tables, a fishing pier, a boat ramp, a playground and a campground.

We were meeting up with some other friends. Cal was going out with one then on their boat to throw out some crab pots.

The rest of us were just picnicking and relaxing.  Debbie is sitting in the shade, but that's ok, she's taking vitamin D every morning.

Puget Sound

The usual plan is to put out the pots in the morning. Return to the beach and join the Picnic while the pots soak and fill up with crabs.  After lunch pull the pots, go home and cook crab. Yum.

Fraga's Visit

Good friends from Concord, Cal and Betty, arrive for a visit. They arrived early afternoon in their motorhome and settled on our lot next door. We had a great visit and celebrated Betty's birthday with cards and a cupcake birthday cake.

A view during one of our walks together.

New Fire Place

Today we went into Marysville and stopped at Home Depot to look at outdoor fireplaces. In our absents last winter, a huge tree fell down between the shed and the gazebo frame, missing both, but scoring a direct hit on the old fireplace.

Home Depot had this one on the floor and it look perfect.

I could visualize sitting around a roaring fire with my feet up enjoying life.
